The 40th annual Juno gala and award dinner in Toronto couldn't have kicked off on a better note than with Canadian legend Neil Young nabbing the first honour of the evening for 'Le Noise' in the Adult Alternative Album of the Year category.
"I'm an adult...and there's no alternative," Young joked while accepting his award, his career sixth.
Many questioned the "Adult" component of the award when Young was nominated early this year, and it seems that the icon himself was just as befuddled by the distinction, insisting, though, he doesn't worry about musical categories.
"All the handles and everything, that's other people's things," he said."It's all music to me."
