PARIS — France defender Adil Rami has only a minor neck injury after
landing heavily on his shoulder during the scoreless draw with Croatia
in a friendly.
The Lille player was injured in stoppage time on
Tuesday at the Stade de France while trying to perform a scissor kick.
He was carried off the pitch on a stretcher and underwent scans at La
Pitie Salpetriere hospital.
The French football federation said Wednesday in a statement that the scans "didn't reveal any sign of seriousness."
Lille says Rami will return to the club later Wednesday and will be monitored by medical staff.
Leader Lille hosts Caen in the French league on Saturday.
