Rochelle hoopt de drukte over een tijdje te kunnen combineren met het afronden van de Rock City Institute in Eindhoven. "Ik wil dat diploma halen. De prioriteit ligt wel bij het geven van optredens, maar dat vinden de docenten ook niet zo'n probleem. Zo doe ik wel veel ervaring op."



Auto voor mama

De zangeres sleepte met haar overwinning een platencontract binnen. Ze heeft al een idee wat voor muziek ze wil gaan maken. "Soul, hiphop en R&B", bevestigt ze. Rochelle won ook een auto. "Ik moet mijn rijbewijs nog wel halen. Voorlopig is ie voor mama."

Production begins on ‘Happily Divorced’

LOS ANGELES, may 16 (UPI) — Production began Monday in Los Angeles on the sitcom “Happily Divorced,” starring and co-written by Fran Drescher, TV Land said.



Co-starring John Michael Higgins, Tichina Arnold, Rita Moreno, Robert Walden and Valente Rodriguez, the show is scheduled to debut on the cable network June 15.



Drescher is co-writing the series alongside her real life ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, who previously worked with Drescher as co-creator and writer on “The Nanny.”



“We are so excited to get started on production of ‘Happily Divorced,’” Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, said in a statement. “Fran is a comedic icon, and with the amazing cast and hilarious writing, our viewers are sure to embrace this addition to our original sitcom line-up.”



The sitcom is about a longtime married couple who must learn to adjust to a new lifestyle when the husband announces he is gay and can’t afford to move out of their home. It will air after “Hot in Cleveland,” a comedy about three 40-something friends who realize they’re considered more glamorous in Cleveland than they are in Los Angeles.



“Because ‘Happily Divorced’ focuses on entering into a new and uncharted stage in life, it’s the perfect companion to ‘Hot in Cleveland,’” added Keith Cox, executive vice president of TV Land’s development and original programming.

'Napoleon Dynamite' Comes to TV Just in Time for the World to End [Video]

Only eight years too late, 20th Century Fox Television has teamed up with filmmakers Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess to create a new animated series based on their hit indie movie, Napoleon Dynamite. Produced by Mike Scully (The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond), the series will debut in 2012 and feature the film's original cast lending their voices to their animated counterparts. We'll wait here why you get in your time machine, travel back to 2004 and post about it on MySpace.



Napoleon Dynamite was something of a pop cultural revolution upon its release in 2004. With a budget of around $400 thousand, the film made nearly $45 million. Its dialogue and "Vote for Pedro" iconography and merchandise were ubiquitous online and in malls across the nation, as of course was actor Jon Heder's meticulously constructed über-dork, the title character himself.








Although more than eight years will have past since the film was in theaters, its creators, cast and Fox seem to think there's a good chance Napoleon Dynamite's collection of oblivious, imbecilic characters will feel right at home on the network, which also broadcasts Family Guy.

‘Basketball Wives’ premiere: More fights, more drama, more fun

"Basketball Wives" has officially returned for its third season, firmly entrenching itself as television's most guilty pleasure. But then again, is it really a guilty pleasure if we unashamedly love this weekly trainwreck? A wreck that features verbal jabs, angry threats, and cat fights, all taking place within the backdrop of lavish condos and expensive dinner rendezvous?



"Basketball Wives" began with Jennifer Williams showing Evelyn Lozada and Shaunie O'Neal what life is like as a single woman. Jen stated that her her ex-husband, Eric Williams, told her she had to move out as he was selling their condo. With her tears now behind her, Jennifer tells viewers she feels like a "new person right now."




That brings us to Royce Reed, who apparently also is single. Her relationship with Dwayne, last seen in season two, didn't end well. Royce and Dwayne simply didn't "mesh," and Royce referred to the brotha as "safe."

Cheryl Cole 'depressed' over 'X Factor' USA exit

Cheryl Cole is said to be depressed following her alleged exit from The X Factor USA last week.
Cole is widely reported to have been axed from the judging panel of Simon Cowell's new show and friends of the singer say she has not stopped crying since returning from America.
"Cheryl wasn't in the right frame of mind to commit to such a big project like The X Factor USA and it has ended up making her feel even worse after being rejected," a source close to Cole told The Mirror . "She felt lost and just didn't enjoy life in America."
The insider claimed that Cole's problems became apparent as soon as she arrived in the US to begin work on the show.
"She was telling people she wanted to go home and although she was smiling for the cameras she was crying inside," they continued. "She spent weeks feeling homesick and staying in her hotel room."
Cole is said to have flown home from the US last week to stay with her family, and has so far kept a low profile.
"She is taking hardly any calls and there have been lots of tears all week, she is really down and depressed," the source added.
Cole, Cowell, and ITV1 have yet to make any comment regarding the singer's current status with either the US or UK versions of The X Factor .
Yesterday, N-Dubz star TulisaContostavlos was officially confirmed as one of the new judges for The X Factor UK, alongside Gary Barlow and returning judge Louis Walsh.
Former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland is widely expected to be announced as the fourth and final member of the show's judging lineup.
The X Factor UK is scheduled to begin auditions in Birmingham this Wednesday.

Raiser zu BILD: „Ich bin extrem happy mit dem Film, er ist genauso geworden wie ich es wollte.” Besoners stolz ist er auf Claudia, die er bei einem Online-Casting entdeckte.
Für Hiersche waren bei den Dreharbeiten mit Hubschraubern, Kriegsschiffen und Raketen aber nicht die Explosionen das schlimmste.
Viel schlimmer erwischte es ihre hübschen Locken! Claudia lacht: „Durch die Extensions und das Glätten meiner Haare sind sie mir fast ausgefallen. Es hat lange gedauert, bis ich meine Locken zurück hatte...”

TV Ratings: 'Dancing' finale, 'Bachelorette' premiere help ABC rule Monday

Fast National ratings for Monday, May 23, 2011. 

ABC got huge Monday numbers for the "Dancing with the Stars" finale performances, leading into solid (but significantly less huge) premiere numbers for Ashley Hebert's debut as "The Bachelorette." That was enough to easily carry ABC past FOX's "House" and "Chicago Code" finales.

Meanwhile, reduced competition helped "The Chicago Code," "The Event" and "Law & Order: Los Angeles" all get big Monday bumps for new episodes.

Among adults 18-49, ABC averaged a 3.4 rating for the night, comfortably beating the 2.6 rating for FOX in the key demographic. CBS' 1.8 rating followed, with NBC's 1.4 rating good for fourth. The CW was last with a 0.2 rating.

Overall, ABC averaged an estimated 13.56 million viewers and an 8.7 rating/14 share for the night. That was far ahead of the 4.9/6 and nearly 8 million viewers for FOX and the 4.1/6 and 6.32 million viewers for CBS. NBC's 3.1/5 and 4.94 million viewers finished fourth. The CW was last with only 595,000 viewers and a 0.4/1.

8 p.m. - The first part of the "Dancing with the Stars" finale drew 22.15 million viewers and a 4.6 rating among adults 18-49 for ABC in the 8 p.m. hour, far ahead of what "Dancing" did in the same hour last week. FOX's "House" finale averaged 8.9 million viewers and a 3.3 demo rating, negligibly up from last week in viewers and down from last week in the demo. CBS' repeats of "How I Met Your Mother" averaged 4.39 million viewers, edging out the 4.3 million viewers for NBC's "Minute to Win It." The CW's repeat of "90210" averaged 674,000 viewers.

9 p.m. - Although it squandered heaps of its lead-in, "The Bachelorette" kept ABC in first for the 9 p.m. hour with 10.21 million viewers and a 2.9 demo rating. CBS' repeats of "Two and a Half Men" and "Mike and Molly" averaged 7.63 million viewers. FOX's "Chicago Code" got a finale bump with 7.03 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating in third. Also rising for its finale was NBC's "The Event," which went up to 4.57 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating. [Both "Chicago Code" and "The Event" weren't renewed by their respective network, but both continue to hold hope of outside reprieve.] The CW's "Gossip Girl" repeat averaged 516,000 viewers.

10 p.m. - "The Bachelorette" remained in first for the 10 p.m. hour with 8.33 million viewers and a 2.7 demo rating. CBS' "Clash of the Commercials" was second with 6.96 million viewers. Third went to NBC's "Law & Order: Los Angeles" with 5.95 million viewers and a 1.4 demo rating, also way up from last week.

Anna Kournikova joins 'Biggest Loser' as celebrity trainer for next season

The Biggest Loser has netted a new celebrity trainer: Tennis star Anna Kournikova will join NBC’s popular weight-loss competition next season, a network spokesperson confirmed today. The 29-year-old Russian is filling the slot that is being vacated by Jillian Michaels —  who announced her impending departure back in December — though the Biggest Loser team is not viewing Kournikova as a substitute. “We intentionally tried to not replace Jillian,” executive producer Todd Lubin told Vulture, which first reported the news about Kournikova, who appeared on an episode during Biggest Loser’s tenth season. 

The direction of the show will be “getting slightly away from just the tape measure, and getting into overall well-being and health,” added Lubin. “That’s where Loser needs to go.” UPDATE: An NBC spokesperson also confirmed to EW that current Biggest Loser trainers Brett Hoebel and Cara Castronuova, who joined the series this year, will not return for season 12. The season 11 finale airs tonight.

Nowitzki, Mavericks come up big

Dirk Nowitzki showed no rust from a long layoff, making 10 of his first 11 shots and an NBA playoff-record 24 straight free throws on the way to 48 points, leading the Mavericks to a 121-112 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals last night in Dallas.



Jason Terry scored 24 points and J.J. Barea added 21 points as the Mavericks picked up where they left off in a sweep of the Lakers nine days before. They broke open a tight game with a 13-0 run late in the second quarter and never trailed again, stretching their franchise-record postseason winning streak to seven games.



Game 2 is tomorrow night in Dallas, where the Mavs are 6-0 this postseason.



The Thunder — fresh off a seven-game series against Memphis that included a total of four overtimes — led by 9 early in the second quarter, then went 6:28 between baskets. They missed 10 shots during that drought and were down by 11 when it ended. They eventually trailed by 16 before clawing within 5 points with 3:42 left, and 6 with 48.5 seconds to play.



Kevin Durant followed his 39 points in Game 7 of the previous round by scoring 40, one shy of his most ever in a playoff game. While Nowitzki dominated, Durant’s scoring binge merely helped his team stay close.



Russell Westbrook went from a triple-double in his last game to 20 points, 3 assists and 3rebounds. He missed 12 of his 15 shots, including 10 of his first 11. Despite his poor aim, he had taken more shots than Durant at one point late in the third quarter, fueling the critics who say he’s too much of a scorer and not enough of a distributor.



The Thunder’s big problem, though, was Nowitzki.

'Real Housewives of New Jersey': Where are they now?

The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" returns tonight, and in the likely event that last season depleted too many brain cells, we're here to bring you up to date on our returning housewives, introduce the two new ones , and give you a hint of what's to come this season:


Caroline Manzo of Franklin Lakes: Wife of Al , who runs Paterson's Brownstone banquet hall, mother of Albie , Chris and Lauren , sister of Dina , who left the show last season (and who is married to Al's brother Tommy , whom we have never met), sister-in-law to Jacqueline Laurita (who is married to Caroline and Dina's brother Chris Laurita ), and friend to Teresa Giudice.

Begin the Family Feud: 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' Season 3 Premiere

For those of us who have been subsisting off of Mob Wives and news bits about Kim G. and Michael Lohan (oh yes, and it is thoroughly disgusting), The Real Housewives of New Jersey
is finally back for Season 3! Danielle is gone, Kim G. is not a new
Housewife (I bet she's so pissed! She was working hard for the money
last season), and we're meeting two new Housewives.

Will
either of them be likable or are we just going back to thinking that
maybe Jacqueline and Caroline are OK/the least evil? With Danielle
gone, Teresa needs a new enemy. Her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga,
looks like a likely candidate. Teresa and her brother, Joe don't
exactly get along, either, from what we can tell from their brief
interaction at his son's christening:

Teresa: I just wanted to say congratulations again.
Melissa and Joe: Why are you saying it now?
Joe: Just walk away. Go.
Teresa: Are you kidding me?
Joe: Teresa, just do what you do every day. Just walk away.
Teresa: Are you kidding me.
Joe: You're garbage.

Feel
the love! Table antics run in the family, though! Joe pounds on the
table and lunges toward Teresa. Then we get a title screen that says
"One Week Earlier ..." Oh I love that. It's like Damages!

So,
one week earlier, things are going just OK for Joe and Teresa. Joe is
"enjoying his new career at Giuseppe's Pizzeria" because they had that
whole bankruptcy thing happen. Teresa is writing cookbooks and signing
them to support their penchant for extravagant children's wear.

This
show is all about Teresa. Can we just acknowledge that already? It used
to sort of be about Danielle and Teresa, but now it's all Teresa all
the time. Things are going fine for Jacqueline and the Manzo family.
Albie's moving out and moving forward. Law school didn't work out.
Ashley has an internship at a PR firm. She's already whining and crying
about it.

Oprah’s Grand Finale: Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are the guests on last show

Cementing their place in history as two of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite guests, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith will appear May 25 on the daytime talk queen’s final show, Flash has learned exclusively.


Speculation about who will appear on the mystery-shrouded last episode has been building as Oprah ends her 25-year run of “The Oprah Show.” Fans’ and journalists’ guesses have included Oprah’s longtime love Stedman Graham, Tom Cruise, Dr. Phil McGraw, Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Giffords. It’s not clear how many guests will appear on the final show. And there’s no word on whether the Smiths’ famous kids — “KarateKid” star Jaden Smith and “Whip My Hair” singer Willow Smith — will join their parentson the couch.


The season already has featured President Obama andMichelle Obama, Michael Douglas, Johnny Depp, and today’s guest Sarah Ferguson. Since the Smiths and the Cruises are close friends, though, we wouldn’t be surprised if Tom and Katie Holmes did end up showing up — maybe to jump on that couch one last time?
The last week of the show alsowill feature a two-episode rematch between Oprah and James Frey, the controversial writer of “A Million Little Pieces,“ which is being teased as ”the biggest controversy in Oprah show history.”


Speaking of a million little pieces, Oprah’s Harpo Productions is asking $1 million for 30-second commercials for the last week of the show.

Premier of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'

You can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family.
That saying rings truer than ever on the premiere of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” In the first five minutes of the show, viewers will witness a vicious fight at The Manor, a reception hall in West Orange. The fight is not between two women, as is usually the case on this shriekfest, but between a brother and a sister. At a family christening. Histrionic “Housewife” Teresa Giudice comes over to the table where her brother, Joe
Gorga, is sitting with his wife, Melissa, and their friends. Before she can utter the word “Congratulations,” Joe, who is two years younger, lashes out at her, calling her “garbage.” A stunned Teresa tries to find out what’s wrong but Joe pounds the table and all of a sudden, it’s a free-for-all. The men are up, shoving each other. The women are braying at each other behind them.
Did we mention this takes place at the christening of the Gordas’ newborn, Joey?
“I was screaming at the cameras to get out of my son’s christening,” says Melissa, who insists there were no retakes for the sake of the production. “I didn’t sleep for three days. I was devastated.”
The “Housewives” franchise thrives on brawls of this kind, slugfests that bring out the worst in everyone, whether they are related or barely know each other. Who can forget the end of season one when Teresa upended a table at another formal occasion and called “Housewife” Danielle Staub a “prostitution whore.”
When Melissa Gorga, one of two new “Housewives” this season, watched that moment on the television in her own home, she says, “My husband and I were both gasping for air.” She told her husband, “Now the whole world is going to think you’re crazy as she is. He said, ‘Unbelievable. I can’t believe I have to go work tomorrow.’”
The Gorgas, who live in a 15,000 square ft. home in Montville, were not so mortified by Teresa’shistrionics that they turned down the chance to join the show. After all, what better platform for Melissa to launch her career as a singer? “You’re going to see my journey to stardom,” she says. (Let’s hope she sounds better that New York “Housewife” Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, whose single “Money Can’t Buy You Class” was unspeakably dreadful.)
In the scenario for this season in New Jersey, which was taped lastfall, it looks like Melissa and Teresa are the enemies.
“Melissa is my sister-in-law and we’re not exactly best friends,” Teresa hints ominously to the camera.
Says Melissa of her sister-in-law in the first episode, “That bitch will never miss a party, especially if someone else is paying for it.”
Since the “Housewife” franchise rewards greater camera time to the women who are the most outrageous, Melissa has a shot atbecoming this season’s breakout star. With statements like “I was always told: be a wife is a cook inthe kitchen, a lady in the parlor and a whore in the bedroom,” she can certainly shock Bravo’s target viewer.
She has an ally in her husband’s first cousin, Kathy Wakile, who lives in Wayne, NJ, with her husband, Rich, and their two teenaged children. “I’m very friendly with Kathy,” Melissa says.“We just clicked. She’s a little older than me. I tend to call her for advice.”
While Melissa declares to the camera, “I tend to be very spoiled,” Kathy doesn’t self-anoint. In fact, she seems normal: she rides her bike to do grocery shopping and asks her 15-year old son, Joseph, when she finds him playing with knivesin his bedroom, “Why can’t you collect stamps?”
Kathy believes the bitterness between Teresa and Joe goes way back. “It’s about not communicating what you’re trulyfeeling when you put those emotions away and you don’t discuss them,” she says.
Even with all the drama in the first episode, Kathy defends her family. “We’re very passionate people. We love. We cry. We feel sorry. We get angry,” she says.
And sometimes the “Housewives” get in trouble. The new season addresses the Giudices’ filing for bankruptcy (Joe Giudice’s subsequent arrest in March 2011 for fraudulently trying to obtain a state driver’s license happened after production was completed). Still, with an eye to branding herself like Bethenny Frankel, Teresa manages to crank out a cookbook of old family recipes while Joe works in a pizzeria.
Fellow “Housewife” Caroline Manzo deals with empty nest syndrome as her two sons, Albertand Christopher, lease an apartment in Hoboken. Jacqueline Laurita, the fifth housewife, has minor parental issues with her daughter Ashley Holmes, an intern for publicist Lizzie Grubman who wants to liveon her own.
If they want more camera time, they’d better start fighting — preferably with each other.
Out with the old
Danielle Staub
Staub’s departure was announced at the end of last season. The most toxic of the “Housewives,” Staub spent her time fighting with everyone, especially Teresa Giudice.
Dina Manzo
The younger sister of “Housewife” Caroline Manzo, Dinaopted to leave the show last season rather than deal with Danielle Staub.
In with the new

'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' Are Back!

Monday night, May 16th, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" premières Season 3 in a 90-minute episode that is sure to please. Returning housewivesare Teresa Guidice, Caroline Manzo, and Caroline's sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita. Joiningthe cast and sure to add to the drama are; Melissa Gorga, Teresa's sister-in-law, and Kathy Wakile, Teresa's first cousin. Missing is Danielle Staub and all the drama that she caused between the Manzo and Guidice clans.


Recapping "The Real Housewivesof New Jersey" for those who arenot familiar with these Jersey Girls:
Caroline is the matriarch of the Manzo family who have owned the Brownstone, a well-known facility that caters to weddings and events in Northern New Jersey for over thirty years. She isa supporter of several charities and will be introducing her fashion accessory line in the fall of 2011.


Teresa is no stranger to drama and in addition to running a fantastic mansion of a home with four adorable girls, she refuses to have a nanny, housekeeper or bookkeeper helpher with her daily tasks. Last season her husband had a run-inwith the law and her financial situation was made public. She is the author of a cookbook and is soon to publish her second cookbook devoted to Italian cuisine.


Jacqueline is married to Caroline's brother, Chris. She wasa cosmetologist from Las Vegas, previously married and mother to Ashley who is 20 from the prior marriage. She and Chris have been married over ten years and are parents to CJ who is eight and two-year old Nicholas. Ashley had legal problems stemming from a hair-pulling altercation with Danielle Staub last season.


The two new housewives will surely be a welcome addition as the fans get to know their deep dark secrets, so stay tuned to Bravo!

Top Ten Reasons We Can't Get Enough Death Wish

Vigilante movies may have their roots as far back as The Searchers, but they came into their own in the seventies. And the vigilante flick has never been done any better than in Death Wish. Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) was mad as hell and wouldn't take it anymore! The franchise exploded onto the screen and spawned countless imitators, but it never died until Bronson did. Trust us: you don't have to be a paranoid survivalist to love Death Wish. Here are ten less-apocalyptic reasons to love the movie.

10. Death Wish 4's Roller-Rink MassacreRight from the get-go, you know the fourth movie in the franchise is taking no prisoners. The flick hits eighties action heights with a massacre at a roller rink full of young people with crimped-to-death hair and acid-washed jeans, set to crappy synth pop. "Who are you?" asks some lowlife in a stocking mask. "Death," replies Bronson's craggy Kersey. How cool is that?

9. Familiar Faces in Bit PartsLove spotting actors in bit (or not so bit) roles? Death Wish is the series for you. The movies feature debuts and/or early appearances by Christopher Guest, Jeff Goldblum (more on him later), Olympia Dukakis (Death Wish), Laurence Fishburne (Death Wish II), Bill & Ted co-star Alex Winter (Death Wish 3), Breaking Bad's Danny Trejo, X-Files regular Mitch Pileggi (Death Wish 4), and Miguel Sandoval of Medium (Death Wish V). That's just plain fun.

8. The Body Count in Death Wish 3All five Death Wish flicks hit killing highs rarely matched, but it's the third movie that takes the gold: somewhere around 70 kills, but they occur at such a fast and furious pace that keeping track is difficult. Call it crass if you want, but you know that kind of mayhem is insanely entertaining. Action stars like Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and Norris wish they could kill this much.

7. The Imitators
Not that imitation is necessarily something to be encouraged, but it is the sincerest form of flattery, and Death Wish paved the way for dozens of urban-revenge movies, from 1977's sublimely sleazy Sudden Death to Jodie Foster's thoughtful (if not entirely successful) Brave One. And -- get ready to have your mind blown -- even Taxi Driver, considered an all-time classic, was released in Death Wish's wake.

6. Herbie Hancock's Death Wish Score A world-class slice of melancholy jazz-tinged funk that perfectly underscores the story's bleak, bloody imagery and also works as a stand-alone composition. Seriously: go to Amazon or eBay and see what fans are willing to pay for a copy. And Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page's bluesy score for Death Wish II (huge chunks of which were repurposed for Death Wish 3) is pretty good, too.

5. Urban-Decay NostalgiaDeath Wish was shot in New York at the height of the bad old days, when the city's coffers were empty and everything was covered in graffiti. Times Square was never more frighteningly seductive, and the subways made today's clean, efficient system look like an amusement-park ride. If you've got nostalgia for the old gritty New York City, Death Wish is a great place to get a glimpse of what it looked like way back when.

4. The Bad Guys
They're very, very bad -- so unrepentantly, grotesquely, and thoroughly bad to the bone that Mother Teresa would be hard put to find a nice word to say about any of them. Which is why we can cheer for Paul Kersey even though we know vigilantism is bad. Getting behind a murderer is pretty tough, but getting behind someone eliminating the worst of the worst of the worst? Well, that's fun.

3. Jeff Goldblum
And speaking of thoroughly rotten creeps, the skinny 21-year-old Goldblum made his movie debut as Death Wish's "Freak #1," the one who rapes Kersey's daughter. He has the movie's nastiest line -- "Goddamned rich cunt! I kill rich cunts!" -- and let's face it: you have to be the top (rabid) dog to command the loyalty of a bunch of lowlifes while wearing that Jughead hat. Goldblum is just disgusting -- and kind of mesmerizing.

2. The Girlfriends (and Other Friends) of Kersey
If you're tight with Kersey, you've got to go. In Death Wish, a bunch of hopped-up sociopaths kill Kersey's wife. In Death Wish II, his girlfriend, Geri (Jill Ireland, Bronson's real-life wife), actually survives, but Kersey's daughter is raped again and dies impaled on a fence while his nice housekeeper is raped and beaten to death. In Death Wish 3... Well, just believe us: knowing Paul Kersey is no fun.

1. Charles Bronson
Movies are full of so-called tough guys who look as though they'd rather be voguing in front of a mirror than kicking bad guys to the curb. Bronson isn't one of them: he started working in a coal mine when he was 16 and figured World War II military service was a better deal than staying home. Bronson was one of a kind. Nobody else could have been Paul Kersey; it would've been silly. But with Bronson in the part? It works. Cause he's that tough.

We ran a list of “ugly-hot” men yesterday, and inquiries were made as to when our list of “ugly-hot” women was coming out. Since we fancy ourselves an equal-opportunity outfit, that should be a pretty straightforward question. And yet somehow, it is not. Because women continue to be judged based on their fealty to a relatively narrow version of beauty in most cultures, a lot of what passes in Movies or on TV for a female “ugly-hot” is actually just hot, with glasses, or hot, with an over-sized sweatshirt. See, for instance, Jennifer Aniston in the recent Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With It:
