X Factor: Rumors leak Simon Cowell gave Cheryl Cole the axe early?

Simon Cowell, American Idol winner of the meanest celebrity judge award, might be involved with the firing of Cheryl Cole from his new show X Factor — or not. Rumors are swirling thanks to a variety of conflicting entertainment journals reporting that Simon Cowell fancies himself a Donald Trump reality show type, just waiting for his moment in the spotlight to say, “You’re FIRED!” and others that say the outwardly cold-hearted but secretly warm and fuzzy teddy bear was taken by surprise when Cheryl Cole was told — not so politely – that as a new reality television show judge, America had already voted her off. The celebrity scandal now ensuing is a grand one, as everyone is planning to tune in to the X Factor now that American Idol 2011 has wrapped up. While celebrity teen Scotty McCreery is hot news in the celebrity gossip circles for winning American Idol and then Scotty kissing Lauren Alaina, nothing will keep his name in the press more than a fat and juicy celebrity scandal like a mystery about who fired a key star on a television show like X Factor.

Rebecca Black on 'Good Morning America': 'I think I have talent on some level'

Friday. Friday. Got to get down on Friday. Rebecca Black, the teenage singer whose music video, “Friday,” has become an Internet sensation, appeared on this morning’s Good Morning America.
ABC’s Andrea Canning initially said she thought the song “was king of
catchy,” but then she proceeded to read the worst of Black’s hate-mail
and give the teen a singing test (At least she got the national
anthem’s words right!). To her credit,
Black handled the criticism well, saying that “Even a person who
doesn’t like it — it’s going to be stuck in their heads, so that’s the
point of it. It’s a catchy song.” She acknowledged that she wasn’t the
best singer in the world, and then got all cute and girly when she made
a plea to record a duet with Justin Bieber. “Just thinking of it gives
me butterflies,” she said. “That would just make my life.”


But about that song, PopWatchers. Is it really that bad to inspire
such Internet hatred. And can we give the girl some credit for at least
pushing Charlie Sheen slightly into the background?

The X Factor guru, 51, gushed about the 13-year-old teen's hit song to Entertainment Weekly revealing that he is keen to meet her.


He said: 'I love it! I’ve never seen anything cause so much controversy.' 'I think it’s genius. The fact that everyone’s getting upset about it is hysterical.'


Black's video for her debut single Friday quickly became a YouTube hit after it premiered a week ago and has now been watched over 26 million times.


Rebecca was blasted for her heavily Auto-Tuned vocals and the track's shockingly simple lyrics with many music fans on Twitter rubbishing it as one of the 'worst' songs they'd ever listened to.


But Cowell said it was great that the song was proving so controversial.

'It’s what we call a ‘hair-dryer song,’ a song girls sing into their hair dryers as they’re getting ready to go out,' he added.


'But the fact that it’s making people so angry is brilliant.'


Simon also told People magazine that he was keen to meet the young star, who has revealed she felt 'cyber-bullied' by all the attention.


'I want to meet her. Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that.'


Black has said she wants to record an acoustic version of the song so that people can see what a good singer she really is.


'I want to show people there’s more to me than they think,' she told The Daily Beast.


Her record company Ark Music Factory, put together songs and videos for teenage girls who 'want to be discovered' for a fee.


Meanwhile, Cowell has confirmed music producer LA Reid as the first judge on the American version of The X Factor while pop diva Nicki Minaj is also rumoured to be joining them on the panel.

Paula Abdul 911 Call: I Wanna Go!

During her run as a judge on American Idol, Paula Abdul would often shed tears of happiness over a contestant's audition.

But the singer unleashed a cry of a different kind on Valentine's Day this year, as a recording of her 911 call has hit the Internet. In it, Abdul is in hysterics because her (unidentified) boyfriend won't let her out of the car.

Driving along the highway, near Santa Barbara, Abdul sobs to the operator: "I wanna go, and he won't let me!"

After warning her man that she's on the phone with "emergency," Paula then tells the operator that, it's okay, he has agreed to drop her off. Hours later, police officers arrived at Abdul's home and were assured that everything was fine.

Said a spokesperson for Abdul to TMZ: "Arguments with loved ones are often times heated. After the call was made everything was worked out."
