Video: Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson Performing on 'American Idol'

Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson paid "American Idol" a visit on Tuesday night, April 14. The "Umbrella" hitmaker brought her "California King Bed", while the winner of "Idol" season 1 returned to the stage of the singing competition with Jason Aldean for "Don't You Wanna Stay" duet.



Beside singing, RiRi also had a brief chat with host Ryan Seacrest. Talking about what she's preparing for her upcoming tour, she said, "Right now, we just designed the stage. I'm really not supposed to say this, but I want to get you excited. We're building two sections on the stage [for the fans. They'll be] closer than they've ever been. It's real VIP."



The recent result show had Haley Reinhart, Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald in the bottom three. After Rihanna's performance, Paul was finally sent home, becoming the first male contestant to leave the competition.

'American Idol:' Top 8 Elimination, Rihanna, and Kelly Clarkson Recap

After last week's gonzo results show,
'American Idol' fans were prepared for anything, but tonight's sendoff
felt more like a listless airport 'goodbye' than a traumatic, premature
separation of the kind we experienced last Thursday night.



Somehow, the pecking order seems to have been restored ... for the time
being. But before we get to that, in the spirit of Ryan Seacrest, let's
drag things out a bit and take a look back at how the evening unfolded.



Once again the night started with Lauren Alaina
and Scotty McCreery, ya'll. The two shared a Lady Antebellum song
nicely, with Scotty continuing to find new, awkward ways to hold a
microphone, while Lauren pranced around in a daisy yellow dress
straight out of Dolly Parton's closet.



It's becoming and more evident that Lauren and Scotty are going to be the final two standing, after James Durbin gets the boot, while everyone else continues to keep those bottom three seats warm.
