Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 UK release date Nov 8th?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 UK release date Nov 8th?

Modern Warfare 3 details leak ahead of upcoming unveiling

With official world from Activision on the next Call of Duty gaming release expected within the coming weeks new reports have suggested the eagerly awaited title will launch around the world on November 8th.

The reports, which suggest the mooted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release will follow the early November arrival and last year’s Black Ops title, claim developer Infinity Ward has teamed up with Activision studio Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software to produce the next instalment to the hugely successful gaming franchise.

Further leaks on the upcoming Call of Duty addition suggest the Modern Warfare 3 release will feature large-scale destructible environments, moving away from the game’s currently linear format. The more expansive storyline for the upcoming release is claimed to follow directly on from the climax of Modern Warfare 2, set in an urban environment “with military vehicles, including tanks, rolling through suburban streets.”

Speculation around the release date of what will arguably be the gaming industry’s biggest release of the year is rife with an internal Tesco database leak also suggesting that Modern Warfare 3, codenamed ‘Call of Duty: Project Collossus’ will be released on November 8th.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the follow up to 2009's best selling video game, will release on 8 November this year, according to online retailers

Online retailer Amazon have listed the 8 November 2011 release date on their website and have sent customers an e-mail encouraging pre-orders for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Publisher Activision are yet to officially reveal the release date for Modern Warfare 3, but a 'leaked' promotional poster uncovered by the Australian arm of games site IGN also specified 08.11.11.

Activision are yet to show Modern Warfare 3 --the follow-up to 2009's Modern Warfare 2 which sold 7 million copies on its first day alone-- in action but have released a handful of teaser trailers to stoke excitement. Last week, US video games blog Kotaku published a huge amount of apparently leaked details on the first person shooter, including modes and even a story outline. Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist of Infinity Ward, the developer behind the game, said on his Twitter account ""A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will most likely follow in the footsteps of last year's interim game in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops, as the biggest video game of the year. Black Ops has surpassed $1bn (£625m) worth of sales and became the best selling entertainment item of 2010 in the UK, outselling DVDs and music. It will, however, face staunch competition in the form of EA's Battlefield 3, a similarly themed military FPS.
